The rise in prices has affected some cards really noticably - like prices going up several fold in a few months - and others not at all, or just barely. So either the market needs to soften... or these two sets will never be completed.Fujihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00749100861086458307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4243926228844409495.post-83741471012376536702021-06-29T21:59:22.718-07:002021-06-29T21:59:22.718-07:00That possibility passed my mind, I've come acr...That possibility passed my mind, I've come across a few really dedicated player collectors out there for whom a guy's Japanese cards are by far the hardest to find.

I kind of thought it unlikely that a journeyman outfielder with a .233 lifetime batting average in a part time role spread across 6 seasons in MLB would have two such collectors chasing his cards down at the same time, but I suppose weirder things have happened!Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13681778110046124243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4243926228844409495.post-70522984342624367512021-06-29T21:08:15.769-07:002021-06-29T21:08:15.769-07:00There's always the hope that there were a coup...There's always the hope that there were a couple of guys who particularly collect Ron Woods or something (maybe they collect cards of ex-Yankees in Japan?) who drove this card up in price. When it goes up I get mad that cards I still want are too expensive for me to buy. When it goes down I get mad that cards I spent a lot of money on are worth less. I don't know which is better/worse.

The ideal situation would be for the market to wait until I've bought all the cards I will ever want, then when my collection is complete for the market to go way up. But since its already going up while I am still collecting my reaction is kind of "Wait wait wait, I didn't say it was OK for prices to go up yet."
